Modding a mafia

I would like to try modding a mafia, but not sure if I should or not.

So, before I go and reserve a theme, any advise on modding one?

1. Make sure you are willing to be active

2. Think hard about every element of the game. -make sure you know how all the roles will work, and what happens when they are targeted by other roles.

3. Think about previous games you have played and read to see what worked and what didn't, as well as things that made the game more interesting.

4. Make a reserve list. I find that offering a reserve list for people interested in playing, but who missed out on the sign-ups, comes in handy. As it motivates the other players to be active, and means that it is easyier to quickly replace someone if you need.

5. SAVE EVERYTHING. Make sure you have text files saved on your computer that has every detail of who people are, your roles, what people have done as their night action
Have everything completly ready to go before you post your sign-ups, role PMs and night 0 story and rules all written.
Try to avoid last minute changes to roles.

my advice is start with a small mafia (no more than 9 players) it'll be so much easy to deal with ^_^

also if you want ask someone to co-mod with you (someone who has modded before) they can help you with any questions and what not (and sorting out the balance etcetc) but you would still write all the stories and it would still be YOUR game.
